As the years passed, No. 25043 continued to avoid the paint shop where blue was now the only colour available. TOPS numbers were applied in 1974 but it wasn’t until the summer of 1976 that it was called into Works for overhaul and repaint. By that time the Longsight machine was the last of the class in green!
