The BR blue ‘Early Class 25’ launch loco is No. 25042, a Crewe-based machine for the last decade of its operational life. It was a consistent passenger performer over the North & West ‘ Marches’ route and gained notoriety as the last vacuum-braked Class 25. It is offered with snowploughs and ‘042’ headcode at one end.
