A CHARITY WAS A BIG WINNER when we renewed our links with Hornby by commissioning another Class 60, this time recreating No. 60074 which had been unveiled in a unique light blue livery at the National Railway Museum in March 2008. The locomotive recognised the valuable and important work of the Teenage Cancer Trust and was notable by being the first to carry the DB Schenker branding in the UK. With the full endorsement and support of EWS, a limited edition – with special slipcase – was released early the following year. A sell-out saw a significant four-figure sum donated to the charity towards its aim of opening specialist hospital units.
